Wondering why we spell our name weird? There is actually a reason. When we started, we wanted to honor the camelids who provide the wonderfully soft yarn for our products. But we also wanted to honor the livestock guardian dogs who protect our alpacas, as they are an endangered breed from Bulgaria. The Karakachan dog is brave, tenacious and yet sweet and loving to its owners and charges. We thought it would be fun to put the KAs from the Karakachans into the camelid wording and came up with Kamalot.
